The climbing wall provides over 1,500 square feet of vertical territory to explore including cracks, overhangs, and a bouldering area. The wall's varied terrain will challenge novice and experienced climbers alike. Afraid to try rock climbing? Learn-to-climb programs and a knowledgeable and friendly student staff will help newcomers master the skills to make it to the top of the rock.
The aquatics program provides choices for everyone. The 50-meter and 25-yard pools host varsity swimming team training and competitions, recreational and lap swimming, and instructional swimming programs. There is spectator seating for over 300 and the moveable bulkhead can divide the 50-meter pool into two 25-meter pools. The aquatics center is also equipped with a state-of-the-art heat-recovery and dehumidification unit. Both pools are staffed with certified lifeguards from St. Mary's College and the community during the aquatics center's daily hours of operation.
The fitness center is comprised of three areas and is outfitted with a variety of state-of-the-art fitness equipment including cardiovascular machines, a comprehensive circuit of resistance training machines, Olympic-style benches, and 6,000 pounds of free weights. Fitness center student staff is available to assist both athletes and recreational exercisers with the use of the equipment. Excellent stretching and floor exercising space is available as well. Equipment provided by Life Fitness Hammer Strength, LeMond, Hampton Fitness, Concept II, and Schwinn.
The Recreational Courts include two courts reserved for recreational use. Available for use by individual members and organized groups for recreation and club sports. Our thriving Recreational Sports program provides opportunities for a variety of experience, skill and competition levels in an ever-changing selection of sports including dodge ball, indoor soccer, water polo, men's and women's crew, tennis, and indoor rock climbing.
