Casey Nabs CAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor

York, Pa. – Joey Casey (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 3 as announced by conference commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Monday afternoon. Casey shares this week's honor with York College of Pennsylvania's first-year goalkeeper Caleb Abney.

The 5-10 goalie helped the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team get back in the win column with a 13-5 win at Drew University. Casey faced 27 shots in the game, turning away 14 and allowing just five in 60 minutes of action. He finished the game with a .737 save percentage while adding three ground balls.

The recently ranked Seahawks will be back in action tomorrow when No. 20 St. Mary's welcomes No. 8 Washington College to Seahawk Stadium for non-conference action at 3:00 pm.
