How It Happened

  • Collie opened up the scoring in the contest with an unassisted goal in just a minute and 20 seconds into the game. McDaniel tied things up 14 seconds later, but the Seahawks answered with back-to-back goals for a 3-1 lead. Sydni Thacker and Jayne Barkman found the back of the cage during the two-goal run.

  • Leading 6-4 with under 18 minutes remaining in the first half, the Seahawks separated themselves from the Green Terror with five unanswered goals. Caitlin Katchmar started and ended the run with a score, while Collie, Jodi Credit, and Kate Bartholomew all found the back of the net during the scoring streak. McDaniel added a score before the first half and the Seahawks took an 11-5 advantage into halftime.

  • The Seahawks and Green Terror traded scores to start the second half, until St. Mary's College strung together another scoring run with three-straight goals. Credit and Collie started the run, while Bartholomew finished it off with a free position goal for the 16-7 lead.

  • The Green Terror finished the game outscoring the Seahawks 3-2, but St. Mary's sizeable lead was too large to overcome.
