Mackenzie Rayburn is making the transition from player to coach in 2018 as Rayburn joins the Seahawk coaching staff for her first season as an assistant coach, working primarily with the defense.
The Bel Air, Maryland native is coming off a solid four-year career at St. Mary's. She left the program as a two-time Second Team IWLCA Division III All-Chesapeake Region and as a two-time Second Team All-Capital Athletic Conference. During her last two seasons, Rayburn ranked in the Top 5 in the conference in caused turnovers. She finished her career with 139 ground balls, 65 caused turnovers, 48 draw controls, and three goals.
Rayburn excelled off the field as well, landing on the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll twice and the CAC All-Academic Team all four years as a psychology major and educational studies minor.
She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching at St. Mary's.
