Seahawk Women's Rowing Third Varsity Eight Victorious against Franklin & Marshall

St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's rowing team competed in a regatta on the St. Mary's River Friday morning against Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference opponent, Franklin & Marshall College. The Seahawks won the third varsity eight.

How It Happened 

  • St. Mary's captured the third varsity eight in 8:06.58, besting the Diplomats (8:13.88) by nearly eight seconds.
  • The Seahawks placed second in the varsity eight race in 7:09.52 as F&M won in 6:50.52.
  • In the second varsity race, a timing error led to no time taken for St. Mary's. The Diplomats had an open water lead when they crossed the finish line in 7:34.60.
