St. Mary's City, Md. – Junior Grant Burgess (Fallston, Md./Fallston) picked up two gold medals as St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming (3-6) dropped a 138-66 non-conference decision to Washington College (3-1) Friday night.

Burgess tallied a couple of Capital Athletic Conference best times in winning the 1,000 and 500 freestyle events. He captured the 1,000 free in 10:10.26 before touching the wall first in the 500 free in 4:54.79. Burgess also collected a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 56.10.

The foursome of junior Zach Lilley (Myersville, Md./Middletown), first-year Kieran Broder (Olney, Md./Georgetown Prep), senior captain Bobby Witkop (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase), and sophomore Andrew Braker (Olney, Md./Sherwood) posted a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay in 1:42.68.

Junior Michael Speer (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) notched a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 48.89 before anchoring the second-place 200 freestyle relay. Joining Speer on the relay were Braker, Lilley, and Witkop.

Speer finished third in the 50 freestyle in 22.32 while sophomore Matt Walchuck (Middletown, Md./Middletown) came in third in the 400 individual medley in 4:21.12. Lilley placed third in the 100 backstroke in 57.59 while Broder was third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.43.

Witkop paced the Seahawks in the 200 freestyle with a fourth-place finish in 1:52.15.

It's a quick turnaround for St. Mary's as the Seahawks will be back in the pool tomorrow afternoon, welcoming McDaniel College to The Aquatic Center at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center for a non-conference dual meet at 1:00 p.m.
