ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming team (3-8, 1-3 CAC) hosted the Salisbury University Sea Gulls (6-3, 2-2 CAC) on Saturday (Jan. 25) afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Seahawks were edged by the Sea Gulls 97-96.

Sebastian Ludwig won the first event for the Seahawks in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle swimming a time of 10:37.66. Jack Kennedy followed in the next event by winning the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:50.51.

In event 16, Peter Orban captured a first-place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 53.06. Next, Ludwig recorded his second victory of the afternoon when he won the 500 Yard Freestyle, swimming a time of 5:01.36. The Seahawks finished the meet strong by tallying a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Orban, Ludwing, Anri Cifuentes Robinson, and Nate Donoghue swam a time of 1:32.26 for the victory.

Other notable Seahawk finishes came from Michael Zappia (3rd - 1,000 Yard Freestyle), Donoghue (2nd - 200 Yard Freestyle), Ryan Akhavan (2nd - 200 Yard IM, 2nd - 100 Yard Butterfly), Andrew March (3rd - 200 Yard IM, 3rd - 100 Yard Breaststroke), Cifuentes Robinson (3rd - 100 Yard Butterfly, 2nd - 100 Yard Breaststroke), Jacob Rosenzweig-Stein (3rd - 100 Yard Freestyle), and Kennedy (2nd - 500 Yard Freestyle).
