FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team won two events on Friday night in non-conference action. St. Mary's College (4-5) came up on the short end of a 202-60 loss at the University of Mary Washington (5-1). Junior captain
Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) claimed the two wins for the Seahawks.
How It Happened
- Kidd captured the 50 freestyle in 25.77 while junior Marissa Fields (Leonardtown, Md./Chopticon) came in fifth in 29.01.
- Kidd also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.60 while junior Julia Milner (Middletown, Md./Middletown) took fifth in 1:22.41.
- Kidd also added a second-place finish in the 50 breaststroke in 32.26 while first-year Kate Pass (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) placed fifth in 38.22.
- Junior Kate Holland (Rockville, Md./Rockville) picked up a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 1:03.16 while sophomore Gabby DeCrisci (Fredericksburg, Va.) came in fourth in 1:06.88 and first-year Katie Stolzenberger (Lavallette, N.J./Allentown) placed fifth in 1:11.21.
- Graduate student Rileigh Krell (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) came in third in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.67 while sophomore Emelina Grimm (Rockville, Md./Magruder) went fifth in 1:14.94.
- The foursome of Fields, Kidd, Krell, and Holland took fourth in the 200 medley relay in 2:01.12.
- Grimm paced the Seahawks in the 1000 freestyle with a fourth-place finish in 12:32.88 while DeCrisci placed fifth in 12:53.61.
- Junior Lilianna Bowman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:23.60 while first-year Isabella Ramirez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) took fifth in 2:24.48.
- Krell notched a fourth-place finish in the 50 backstroke in 31.54 followed by Fields in fifth in 32.27.
- Senior captain Jazlyn Benitez (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) was fourth in the 100 butterfly in 1:13.52 while Ramirez was fifth in 1:13.92.
- Grimm led St. Mary's in the 500 freestyle with a sixth-place finish in 6:11.15 while Bowman clocked a 6:24.85 for fifth place.
- Krell placed fourth in the 50 butterfly in 30.59 while Holland was fifth in 33.39.
- In the 400 individual medley, Benitez placed fifth in 5:34.13.
- The foursome of Fields, DeCrisci, Holland, and Bowman went fourth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:57.70.
