Kidd Wins Twice as Seahawks Women’s Swimming Falls to Washington College

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Junior captain Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) tallied the lone two wins for the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team Saturday afternoon. St. Mary's College (6-6) dropped an 181-75 decision to Washington College (3-4).
 
How It Happened
  • Kidd earned the first win of the afternoon in the 100 breaststroke as she touched the wall first in 1:10.16 followed by junior Kate Holland (Rockville, Md./Rockville) in third in 1:18.21.
  • Kidd paced the Seahawks in the 200 individual medley with a first-place finish in 2:17.69.
  • The foursome of junior Marissa Fields (Leonardtown, Md./Chopticon), Kidd, graduate student Rileigh Krell (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point), and Holland came in second in the 200-medley relay in 2:01.45.
  • Kidd added another silver medal as she took second in the 100 freestyle in 56.36 followed by Holland in fifth in 1:03.29.
  • Krell garnered a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:23.86 followed by sophomore Emelina Grimm (Rockville, Md./Magruder) in fifth in 2:36.88.
  • Grimm gained a third-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle in 12:28.81 as well as a fourth-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 6:10.38.
  • Senior captain Jazlyn Benitez (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) collected a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 2:20.07 while junior Julia Milner (Middletown, Md./Middletown) came in third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:49.23.
  • Krell picked up a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.84 followed by Fields in fourth in 1:08.04.
  • The Seahawks were led in the 100 butterfly by first-year Isabella Ramirez's (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) third-place finish in 1:14.67 while Krell went fourth in the 50 freestyle in 29.02.
  • Sophomore Gabby DeCrisci (Fredericksburg, Va.), Grimm, Ramirez, and first-year Katie Stolzenberger (Lavallette, N.J./Allentown) came together for a third-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay in 4:29.82.
