Seahawks Women’s Swimming Closes Out Regular Season

SALISBURY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team wrapped up the 2022-23 regular season Saturday afternoon (Jan. 28) on the Eastern Shore. St. Mary's College (8-8) fell 222-35 to former conference foe, Salisbury University (8-1), in non-conference action at the short course meters Maggs Physical Activities Center Pool.

How It Happened
  • The foursome of junior Lilianna Bowman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill), sophomore Emelina Grimm (Rockville, Md./Magruder), and first-years Kate Pass (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and Isabella Ramirez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) posted a third-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay in 4:58.31 for the Seahawks highest placement of the afternoon.
  • Juniors Marissa Fields (Leonardtown, Md./Chopticon) and Julia Milner (Middletown, Md./Middletown), first-year Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard), and sophomore Gabby DeCrisci (Fredericksburg, Va.) came together for a fourth-place finish in the 400-medley relay in 5:18.15.
  • Grimm paced the Seahawks in the 800 freestyle (11:15.44) and the 400 freestyle (5:29.27), coming in fourth in both events.
  • Bowman collected a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:32.87 and the 200 backstroke in 2:53.71.
  • Fields added three more fourth-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (1:16.78), the 50 freestyle (32.47), and the 100 freestyle (1:09.97).
  • Milner notched two individual fourth-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:29.92) and the 200 breaststroke (3:07.42).
  • Judge tallied a fourth-place finish in the 100 butterfly, clocking a 1:20.83.
  • Senior captain Jazlyn Benitez (Silver Spring, Md./James Hubert Blake) picked up a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley in 2:56.13.
