ASHLAND, Va. – Senior captain
Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) and first-years
Emerson Young (Bel Air, Md./Harford Technical) and
Kelsie Miller (Potomac, Md./Churchill) each picked up an individual win as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team dropped a non-conference dual meet Friday night (Oct. 27).
St. Mary's College (1-2) fell 140-63 to Randolph-Macon College (1-1).
How It Happened
- Young earned her win in the 50 freestyle as she touched the wall first in 25.07.
- Kidd claimed top honors in the 100 freestyle with a winning and season-best time of 56.21. She also collected a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:04.96.
- Miller also posted a season-best time as she was first in the 100 butterfly in 58.90.
- The Seahawks began the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-medley relay, clocking a 1:55.65 behind Young, Kidd, Miller, and senior captain Marissa Fields (Leonardtown, Md./Chopticon).
- The foursome of Young, sophomore Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard), Miller and Fields picked up a second-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay.
- Sophomore Bella Ramirez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) nabbed a third-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle to lead the Seahawks, tallying a time of 13:04.81. Ramirez also added a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley in 2:40.21.
- Fields was the team's top finisher in the 100 backstroke, coming in third with a time of 1:08.06.
- Judge was the first Seahawk to touch the wall in the 500 freestyle, placing third in 6:05.75.
- Senior Kate Holland (Rockville, Md./Rockville) notched a fourth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:18.91.
