ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team hosted their first dual meet of the season Friday evening (Nov. 10). St. Mary's College (3-5) dropped a 196-43 non-conference decision to University of Mary Washington (4-1) at the Aquatics Center at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center.
How It Happened
- Senior captain Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) collected the Seahawks' lone victory of the day, capturing the 50 freestyle in 25.92. Kidd also added a pair of second-place finishes as she took second in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.13, just one second behind Megan Kim's winning time of 2:02.13. The other second-place finish came in the 200 individual medley, clocking a 2:20.10.
- The foursome of seniors Lilianna Bowman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and Julia Milner (Middletown, Md./Middletown), first-year Kaitlyn Soldon, and sophomore Bella Ramirez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-medley relay.
- Senior captain Marissa Fields (Leonardtown, Md./Chopticon) paced St. Mary's in the 100 freestyle with a fourth-place finish in 1:01.15. Fields also added a fifth-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.22.
- Milner posted a pair of fifth-place finishes in 100 breaststroke in 1:20.82 and in the 200 breaststroke in 2:51.03.
- Bowman recorded a fifth-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:31.41 while Ramirez was fifth in the 500 freestyle in 6:10.36.
- Sophomore Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) tallied a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 1:13.08 to lead the Seahawks.
- St. Mary's ended the meet with a sixth-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay, posting a 1:51.52 behind the efforts of Kidd, Bowman, Ramirez, and Fields.
