WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior captain
Anna Kidd (Arbutus, Md./Mount de Sales) and first-years
Emerson Young (Bel Air, Md./Harford Technical) and
Kelsie Miller (Potomac, Md./Churchill) each won two individual events Saturday afternoon (Nov. 4) as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team split a double-dual meet at McDaniel College.
St. Mary's College (3-4) earned a 54-41 victory over host McDaniel (1-6) and succumbed to a 50-45 loss to Stevenson University (4-0).
How It Happened
- Kidd started with a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 2:05.28 before winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:40.70.
- Young notched her first win in the 50 freestyle, clocking a 25.73. She then claimed a victory in the 100 freestyle in 56.49.
- Miller led the Seahawks in the 200 butterfly with a first-place finish in 2:13.25. Her second win came in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall first in 5:31.18.
- The foursome of Young, Kidd, sophomore Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard), and senior captain Marissa Fields (Leonardtown, Md./Chopticon) tallied a second-place finish in the 200-medley relay in 2:02.08 to begin the meet.
- St. Mary's ended the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay, posting a 1:50.92 behind the efforts of Judge, sophomore Bella Ramirez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook), Fields, and Miller.
- Senior Liliana Bowman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was the team's top finisher in the 1000 freestyle with a third-place finish in 13:09.78. Bowman added a fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:34.55) to lead the Seahawks.
- Ramirez came in fourth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:47.54.
