ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming notched a 2-1 record in this weekend's meets with both wins coming in Atlantic East Conference action. St. Mary's College (7-4, 4-0 AEC) dropped a 178-81 non-conference decision to University of Mary Washington (5-0) Friday night before rebounding with a pair of Atlantic East victories Saturday afternoon (Nov. 17). The Seahawks posted a 151-84 win over host Immaculata University (2-4, 1-1 AEC) as well as a 161-47 triumph over Cedar Crest College (1-6, 1-3 AEC).

Sophomore
Emerson Young (Bel Air, Md./Harford Technical) paced the Seahawks against Mary Washington with two individual wins. Young touched the wall first in the 50-freestyle in 24.43 before winning the 100-freestyle in 53.38.
Sophomore
Kelsie Miller (Potomac, Md./Churchill) also picked up an individual win, winning the 100-butterfly in 59.86. Miller also swam the second leg of the winning 200-freestyle relay (1:40.83) along with Young, first-year
Addison Willey (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills), and first-year
Lauren Goulet (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis).
Goulet claimed a second-place finish in the 100-backstroke in 1:08.88 while taking third in the 1000-freestyle in 11:31.59. Junior captain
Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) registered a pair of second-place finishes in the 500-freestyle in 5:23.08 and the 400-individual medley in 4:51.58. Judge also added a seventh-place finish in the 200-freestyle (2:02.15).
The foursome of Young, Judge, and first-years
Ella Malzahn (Durham, N.C./Jordan) and
Mandy Cartwright (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) finished third in the 200-medley relay in 1:55.39.
Willey tallied a second-place finish in the 50-freestyle in 25.36 after taking fourth in the 200-freestyle in 2:00.39 to lead SMCM in that event. Willey also went fourth in the 100-freestyle in 55.84.
Malzahn was fourth in the 100-breaststroke in 1:17.22 and sixth in the 200-breaststroke in 2:47.18. Sophomore
Kaitlyn Soldon (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) represented St. Mary's College in the 200-backstroke with a fifth-place finish in 2:26.60 after going sixth in the 200-butterfly in 2:39.62.

The Seahawks were led by Miller, Young, and Willey at the league double-dual meet as each swimmer notched a pair of individual wins and were also part of the winning 200-medley relay (1:57.44) along with Judge.
Miller claimed gold in the 200-butterfly in 2:22.84 and the 100-butterfly in 1:01.10 while Young led a 1-2-3 finish in the 100-backstroke, winning the event in 1:04.52. Young also went first in the 50-freestyle in 25.17.
Willey paced SMCM in the 200-freestyle, taking first in 2:05.92, before leading a 1-2-3 finish in the 100-freestyle, touching the wall first in 57.53. Grimm won the 200-backstroke in 2:39.19 while Judge came in first the 500-freestyle in 5:46.07.
Goulet earned an individual win as well, taking top honors in the 1000-freestyle in 12:01.61, before taking third in both the 100-freestyle (1:02.02) and the 500-freestyle (6:00.14). Malzahn went second in the 100-breaststroke in 1:20.31 before placing third in the 200-breaststroke in 2:53.97.
Judge also added a second-place finish in the 200-freestyle in 2:08.82 while Malzahn finished second in the 100-butterfly in 1:11.64.
