ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Senior captain
Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) captured three individual events as St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming splits non-conference double-dual meet Sunday afternoon (Nov. 3). St. Mary's College (3-3) tallied a 181-77 victory over Stevenson University (2-2) while falling 160-102 to Washington College (4-2).
How It Happened
- Schwenk began the meet with a win in the 50-backstroke in 23.40 before capturing first in the 50-freestyle in 21.47. He wrapped up his day with a first-place finish in the 50-butterfly in 23.38.
- Rookie Harrison Greenwald (Reisterstown, Md.) claimed top honors in the 500-freestyle in a season-best time of 4:57.63 before anchoring the first-place 400-freestyle relay (3:23.18) along with junior captain William Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and sophomores Qwada Moses (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist).
- The foursome of Moses, sophomores Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton), and Davis posted a time of 3:50.46 to take second in the 400-medley relay.
- Newcomer Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md.) took second in the 1000-freestyle with a season-best time of 10:49.15 while finishing fourth in the 500-freestyle in 5:21.56 and placing fifth in the 100-freestyle in 53.95.
- Greenwald collected a season-best time of 1:49.13 for second place in the 200-freestyle while adding a fourth-place finish in the 100-butterfly in 58.22.
- Sophomore Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) paced the team in the 50-breaststroke with a third-place finish in 29.92 followed by Madigan in fourth in 30.20. Fairbank also went fifth in the 100-backstroke in 1:04.82.
- Sophomore CB Jurado (Odenton, Md./Arundel) notched a fourth-place finish in the 100-freestyle in 53.01 while going fifth in the 200-freestyle in 1:58.94.
- Davis picked up two fourth-place finishes in the 50-freestyle (22.79) and the 50-butterfly (24.59) while Madigan recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100-breaststroke in 1:03.51.
- Smith notched a fifth-place finish in the 100-breaststroke in 1:04.46 while taking sixth in the 200 individual medley in 2:12.01.
- Kendrick contributed to the team scoring with a fifth-place finish in the 50-butterfly in 25.05.
