Seahawks Men’s Swimming Takes on Salisbury in 2024 Finale

SALISBURY, Md. – St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming put a pin in the first half of the 2024-25 season with a non-conference dual meet at Salisbury University Saturday afternoon (Dec. 7). St. Mary's College (6-5) fell 167-67 to the host Sea Gulls (4-1) at the short course meters Maggs Center Pool Natatorium.
 
In the 400-medley relay, junior captain William Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and sophomores Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point), Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton), and Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) touched up in 4:11.90 for second place.
 
First-year Harrison Greenwald (Reisterstown, Md.) grabbed a second-place finish in the 400-freestyle in 4:19.57 while fellow classmate Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md.) placed fourth in 4:29.42. Senior captain Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) came in second in the 50-backstroke in 25.75. Schwenk also anchored the second-place 200-freestyle relay (1:40.25) along with Greenwald, Kendrick, and Davis.
 
Sophomore Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) claimed a second-place finish in the 100-backstroke in 1:11.46 and a fourth-place finish in the 100-individual medley in 1:11.66 while sophomore Jake Williams (Port Republic, Md./Calvert) was third in the 100-backstroke in 1:23.48.
 
Greenwald, Lepine, sophomore CB Jurado (Odenton, Md./Arundel), and Madigan picked up a second-place finish in the 800-freestyle relay in 8:29.43. Madigan earned a second-place finish in the 100-breaststroke in 1:10.30 while Smith paced the Seahawks in the 50-butterfly with a third-place finish in 27.50. Smith also added a third-place finish in the 100-breaststroke in 1:13.25.
 
Madigan also notched a third-place finish in the 50-breaststroke in 31.00 while sophomore Qwada Moses (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) went third in the 100-butterfly in 1:06.23 and fourth in the 50-butterfly in 27.92.
 
Davis collected a third-place finish in the 50-freestyle in 25.18 while Kendrick took fourth in 25.67. Kendrick also led SMCM in the 100-freestyle with a fifth-place finish in 1:00.00 while Davis came in sixth in 1:00.91.
 
Fairbank also went fourth in the 50-breaststroke in 32.70 while Lepine came in fourth in the 100-butterfly in 1:07.26.
