FREDERICK, Md. – St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming opened action in 2025 at a non-conference double-dual meet Saturday afternoon (Jan. 11). St. Mary's College (8-5) returned to the win column with wins over host Hood College (4-5), 194-61, and McDaniel College (3-8), 195-66, as the Seahawks claimed all 14 events.
Senior captain
Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) paced SMCM with four wins – two individual wins and two relay victories – while sophomores
Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and
Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton) each collected three triumphs.
St. Mary's College finished first and second in the 200-medley relay. The foursome of Schwenk, Madigan, and sophomores
Qwada Moses (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and
Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) captured the event in 1:39.98.

Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), junior
Jair Jackson (Laurel, Md./Chapelgate Christian), and sophomore
Thomas Brown (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) came in second in 1:44.51.
Schwenk touched the wall first in the 50-backstroke (23.54) and the 50-freestyle (21.74) while leading off the first-place 200-freestyle relay alongside Davis, junior captain
William Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic), and Smith.
Madigan picked up individual first-place finishes in the 50-breaststroke (29.68) and the 100-breaststroke (1:04.30) while Smith took top honors in the 100-butterfly (56.51) and the 100-individual medley (57.31).
Davis led the Seahawks in the 100-freestyle with a first-place finish in 50.70 while coming in second in the 50-freestyle in 22.55.
Kendrick notched an individual win in the 100-backstroke in 58.13 while finishing second in the 50-backstroke in 26.06. First-year
Harrison Greenwald (Reisterstown, Md.) captured the 200-freestyle (1:49.56) and the 500-freestyle (4:57.53) while placing third in the 100-individual medley in 59.47.
First-year
Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md.) won the 1000-freestyle in 10:46.07 before taking second in the 500-freestyle in 5:12.00. Moses rounded out the individual winners with a victory in the 50-butterfly in 24.94 while taking third in the 100-freestyle in 52.61.
Jackson, Moses, sophomore
CB Jurado (Odenton, Md./Arundel), and Greenwald placed second in the 200-freestyle relay in 1:35.32 while Fairbank tallied a pair of third-place finishes in the 50-breaststroke (29.65) and the 100-breaststroke (1:05.82).
