St. Mary’s College Men’s Swimming Drops League Dual Meet

ARLINGTON, Va. – St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming wrapped up Atlantic East Conference regular-season action Saturday afternoon (Jan. 18). St. Mary's College (8-6, 3-1 AEC) fell 160-102 to Marymount (Va.) University (5-2, 4-0 AEC) as senior captain Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) claimed three of the Seahawks' four wins.
 
Schwenk's first win came in the 50-backstroke as he touched the wall first in 23.89 before capturing the 100-freestyle in 47.29. He concluded the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-individual medley in 1:59.80.
 
Schwenk led off the second-place 200-medley relay alongside sophomores Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point), Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton) and Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist), clocking a 1:38.84.
 
First-year Harrison Greenwald (Reisterstown, Md.) collected a pair of second-place finishes in the 1000-freestyle in 10:26.66 and the 500-freestyle in 5:08.10.
 
Madigan picked up a second-place finish in the 200-breaststroke in 2:16.74 while Smith took second in the 50-butterfly in 24.46.
 
The foursome of junior captain William Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic), sophomore Qwada Moses (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic), junior Jair Jackson (Laurel, Md./Chapelgate Christian) and Smith placed second in the 200-freestyle relay in 1:31.95.
 
Davis notched two third-place finishes in the 200-freestyle in 1:56.72 and the 50-freestyle in 22.86 while Smith put up a third-place finish in the 200-butterfly in 2:12.89.
 
Kendrick added a third-place finish in the 200-backstroke in 2:11.82 while first-year Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md.) went third in the 1000-freestyle in 10:43.69.
