ASHLAND, Va. – Junior
Kelsie Miller (Potomac, Md./Churchill) won twice Friday night (Oct. 24) as St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming began the 2025-26 campaign on the road. St. Mary's College (0-1) suffered a 193-69 loss at Randolph-Macon College (1-0-1).
How It Happened
- Miller captured the 200-butterfly in 2:17.96 as well as the 100 butterfly in 1:00.19.
- Junior Emerson Young (Bel Air, Md./Harford Technical) earned a first-place finish in the 50-freestyle in 25.47 while taking third in the 200-freestyle in 2:05.05.
- The foursome of Young, sophomore Addison Willey (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills), Miller, and senior captain Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) placed second in the 200-freestyle relay in 1:44.04.
- Judge collected a trio of third-place finishes in the 1000 freestyle in 11:45.31, the 500 freestyle in 5:47.30, and the 400 individual medley in 5:15.05.
- Miller, Young, sophomore Jesse Slingluff (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill), and Willey joined forces for a fourth-place finish in the 200-medley relay in 2:00.13.
- In her collegiate debut, first-year Lily Quill (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) placed fourth in the 100-backstroke in 1:10.77 as well as the 200 backstroke in 2:33.96.
- Sophomore Ella Malzahn (Durham, N.C./Jordan) came in fourth in the 100-breaststroke in 1:21.13 while sophomore Mandy Cartwright (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) went 59.64 in the 100 freestyle for fourth place.
- Junior Natalie Canham (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) notched a fourth-place finish in the 200-breaststroke in 2:56.89.
