ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's and women's rowing teams locked up seven spots on the All-Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) teams released May 7.
Senior
Tomas Meisner (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) and first-year
Jonathan Rand-Crawford (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) represented the Seahawks men's rowing team. Meisner earned a spot on the Second Team while Rand-Crawford was named to the Novice Team.
For the women, seniors
Elise Kinyanjui (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair),
Erin Rhodes (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College), and
Haley Roche (Narragansett, R.I./Shrewsbury (Mass.)) all landed on the First Team while senior
Tiffany Dioko (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) garnered Second Team honors. Additionally, junior
Alex Cumber (Frederick, Md.) picked up Novice Team status.
The women's contingent helped the St. Mary's College women's team capture its second straight MARC championship title, winning both the 1V8+ and 2V8+ races for 37 points at this year's MARC Championships. The Seahawks notched a five-point win over Bryn Mawr College, who finished second with 32 points.
Dioko (coxswain), Rhodes (eight-seat), Roche (six-seat), Kinyanjui (five-seat), and Cumber (four-seat) claimed first in their heat in 7:31.51, 2.03-seconds faster than The Catholic University of America. The Seahawks then won the final in 7:17.95, an 8.28-second margin of victory over Bryn Mawr.
Kinyanjui tallied her third All-MARC award after landing on the Novice Team in 2022 and earning Second Team honors in 2023. For Rhodes, this is her second straight appearance on the First Team. Dioko, Roche, and Cumber are all first-time honorees.
Meisner and Rand-Crawford, who are earning their first career postseason awards, helped the men's team placed seventh in the team standings at the 2025 MARC Championships. The 6-4 four-seat rower was part of the fifth-place second varsity 8+ boat.
