SCRANTON, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swim team captured nine of 14 events Saturday afternoon (Jan. 10) in their first meet of 2026. St. Mary's College (10-4, 3-1 AEC) picked up a 135-121 decision over host Marywood University (6-2, 2-2 AEC) and a 191-37 victory over Cedar Crest College (1-7, 1-4 AEC) in an Atlantic East Conference tri-meet.
Juniors
Kelsie Miller (Rockville, Md./Winston Churchill) and
Emerson Young (Bel Air, Md./Harford Technical) as well as sophomore
Mandy Cartwright (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) each notched three wins to lead St. Mary's College.
How It Happened
- Miller tallied three individual wins as she claimed top honors in the 200-butterfly (2:19.08), the 100-butterfly (1:00.93), and the 200-individual medley (2:20.28).
- Young collected victories in the 50-freestyle (25.59) and the 100-freestyle (58.54).
- Cartwright touched the wall first in the 200-freestyle (2:09.80) and the 500-freestyle (5:53.51).
- Senior captain Venus Kai Judge (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) won the 1000-freestyle in 12:14.67.
- Young, Cartwright, sophomore Lauren Goulet (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis), and Judge came together to post a victory in the 400-freestyle relay in 4:04.83.
- The foursome of sophomores Isa Bianco (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) and Ella Malzahn (Durham, N.C./Jordan), Miller, and sophomore Addison Willey (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) clocked a 4:37.15 for second in the 400-medley relay.
- Willey added two more second-place finishes in the 200-freestyle (2:13.05) and the 100-freestyle (1:02.01) while going third in the 50-freestyle in 27.93.
- First-year Liv Macaluso (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) led the Seahawks with a second-place finish in the 100-backstroke while taking third in the 100-butterfly in 1:07.76.
- Sophomore Elly Bauer (Frederick, Md./Johnson) notched a third-place finish in the 200-backstroke in 2:43.22.
- Malzahn came in third in the 200-breaststroke in 3:01.60.
- Judge picked up a third-place finish in the 500-freestyle in 6:01.78.
- Senior captain Kate Pass (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) notched a fifth-place finish in the 100-breaststroke in 1:24.22.
