Mannion Leads Seahawks Men’s Swimming in Triumph over Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. – First-year Brendan Mannion (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) collected four wins to lead St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming to a dominant Atlantic East Conference victory. St. Mary's College (9-4, 2-1 AEC) captured all 14 events on its way to a 207-28 triumph over host Marywood University.
 
How It Happened
  • Mannion began the afternoon by taking first in the 200-freestyle in 1:50.47 before winning the 100-freestyle in 49.23. He also claimed the top spot in the 200-individual medley in 2:04.38.
  • The foursome of junior Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist), sophomore Harrison Greenwald (Eldersburg, Md./Century), senior captain Will Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic), and Mannion ended the meet by winning the 400-freestyle relay in 3:25.89.
  • Junior Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) captured the 100-breaststroke in 1:02.82 while coming in first in the 200-breaststroke in 2:17.45.
  • Kendrick, Madigan, junior Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton), and Davis came together to start the meet with a win in the 400-medley relay in 3:48.93.
  • Greenwald touched the wall first in the 1000-freestyle (10:42.79) and the 500-freestyle (5:06.75).
  • First-year Justin Bonner (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) won two individual events as Bonner was first in the 100-backstroke (59.28) and the 200-backstroke (2:10.13).
  • Kendrick added a first-place finish in the 50-freestyle in 22.05 while Davis won the 100-butterfly in 57.24. Davis also went second in the 50-freestyle in 22.56.
  • Smith posted a first-place finish in the 200-butterfly in 2:16.84 while taking second in the 200-individual medley (2:14.06) and the 100-butterfly (58.12).
  • Senior Tony Lumezi (Towson, Md./Towson) earned a second-place finish in the 100-freestyle in 52.45.
  • Junior Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) notched a pair of second-place finishes in the 100-breaststroke (1:04.85) and the 200-breaststroke (2:29.90).
  • Sophomore Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md./GWU Online) came in second in the 1000-freestyle (10:45.45) and the 200-butterfly (2:17.20).
  • First-year Seth Geasey (Myersville, Md./Middletown) was second in the 200-freestyle (1:54.17) and the 500-freestyle (5:25.90).
  • First-year Harry Brooks (Centreville, Va./Westfield) collected two second-place finishes in the 100-backstroke (1:02.37) and the 200-backstroke (2:19.03).
  • Junior Thomas Brown (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) went third in the 100-backstroke in 1:03.59 as well as the 100-butterfly in 1:08.70.
