St. Mary’s College Men’s Swimming Drops First Dual Meet of the Season

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming suffered their first loss of the season Friday night (Oct. 30). St. Mary's College (2-1) fell 156-106 to Randolph-Macon College (1-1).
 
Junior Harrison Greenwald (Eldersburg, Md./Century) collected three individual wins to lead the Seahawks while sophomore Brendan Mannion (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) added a pair of individual victories. Additionally, the duo bookended the winning 400-medley relay.
 
How It Happened
  • The foursome of Mannion, seniors Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton) and Anthony Davis (Largo, Md./Riverdale Baptist), and Greenwald started the meet with a first-place finish in the 400-medley relay in 3:36.84. Mannion went a personal-best 53.76 in the backstroke as he led off the relay.
  • Greenwald captured the 200-freestyle in 1:47.58, the 200-butterfly in 2:06.29, and the 400-individual medley in 4:15.85.
  • Mannion claimed top honors in the 100-backstroke in 54.15 and the 100-freestyle in 47.48.
  • Davis touched the wall first in the 100-butterfly in 55.83 while taking third in the 50-freestyle in 22.37.
  • Senior captain Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) went second in the 200-breaststroke in 2:14.49 while notching third in the 100-breaststroke in 1:02.01. Madigan added a fourth-place finish in the 400-individual medley in 4:40.32.
  • Mannion, sophomore Seth Geasey (Myersville, Md./Middletown), Smith, and Davis ended the meet with a third-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay in 3:14.81.
  • Geasey collected a pair of third-place finishes in the 1000-freestyle in 10:49.76 and the 100-butterfly in 56.29. He also went fourth in the 100-freestyle in 50.48.
  • Sophomore Harry Brooks (Centreville, Va./Westfield) placed third in the 200-backstroke in 2:08.71 while going fourth in the 100-backstroke in 58.18.
  • Junior Stephen Lepine (Dunkirk, Md./GWU Online) paced SMCM in the 500-freestyle with a fifth-place finish in 5:19.25 after going fourth in the 1000-freestyle in 10:50.99.
