ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team posted another dominant performance Saturday afternoon (April 25), securing a spot in next week's United East Conference/Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Crossover Championship.
No. 1 seed St. Mary's College (6-10) notched a commanding 24-2 victory over No. 2 seed Wilson College (8-10) in the Divisional Championship of the United East Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. This marks the Seahawks' fifth consecutive United East tournament championship title.
The Seahawks will now face No. 1 seed Alfred State College (12-4), the 2026 AMCC Divisional Champion, in Saturday's (May 2) Crossover Championship at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. Game time to be determined. Alfred State was a 16-3 winner over No. 2 seed University of Pittsburgh-Bradford (10-7) in today's AMCC Divisional Championship.

Sanne Elling (Ocean View, Del./Sussex) tallied her 100th career point with her third point of the afternoon – an unassisted goal in the second quarter to give SMCM an 11-2 lead with 5:01 remaining in the first half. Elling finished the game with five points on four goals and one assist.
How It Happened
- St. Mary's College jumped out to an 8-0 lead with 11:31 left in the second quarter before Sadie Fike put Wilson on the scoreboard less than two minutes later. The Seahawks tacked on two more before Alaina Marek closed the gap to 10-2 with 5:47 to go in the half.
- SMCM closed out the game on a 14-0 run for its second straight win.

- St. Mary's College outshot the Phoenix, 48-16, while posting a +12-turnover margin as the Seahawk defense caused 23 of Wilson's 26 turnovers. Senior captain Carsyn Smith (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill) matched her career-best of five caused turnovers to lead the defense while Elling contributed a career-high four caused turnovers.
- SMCM out-hustled the Phoenix on 50-50 balls with a 30-2 margin as Smith picked up a career-best eight ground balls.
- It was a tight battle in draw controls with St. Mary's College edging Wilson, 14-12, as senior captain Katelin Scala (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) won a game-high six draws.

- First-year attacker Sarah Fitter (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) upped her career-high in goals with six to lead the Seahawk offense while adding a career-best two caused turnovers and one ground ball.
- Junior midfielder Hope Harrison (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) contributed career-bests of six points, four goals, and two assists plus a career-high three ground balls and one draw control.
- In addition to her six draws, Scala finished the afternoon with six points as well on two goals and four assists plus two ground balls.
- Junior Allie Greeley (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) picked up six saves through the first three quarters of the game while first-year Lilly Gunder (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen) provided 15 minutes of shutout play in the fourth period.

- Marek paced the Phoenix with a goal and an assist while Fike had five draws and one goal. In goal, Kaelynn Goff turned away 13 Seahawk shots.
