Casey Brandt was introduced as the men's and women's swimming head coach and the director of the Aquatics Center in June 2016. Brandt brought a great deal of technical and developmental knowledge with a proven ability to instruct and lead at the highest levels. He holds an American Swim Coaches Association Level 4.

The La Plata, Md., native is the owner and program director of Seahawk Aquatics, Southern Maryland’s premier swim education and training program. Seahawk Aquatics offers a comprehensive learn-to-swim lessons program, a competitive year-round swim team, summer swim camps, lifeguard certification courses, and much more.

Brandt has developed qualifiers to USA Swimming Sectionals, Junior Nationals, and Olympic trials as well as multiple Level AAAA standard achievers and state qualifiers. He spent eight years with the Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club, including three as a head coach. Brandt has also worked with several other swim clubs in Maryland such as the Mariner Swim Club in Baltimore, the Carroll County YMCA in Westminster, and the Smallwood Village Swim Club in Waldorf.

He was named the 2006-07 Metropolitan Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year as the head age group coach at Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (New York, N.Y.).

During his own swimming days, Brandt, a 1995 Loyola College Maryland graduate, was named the Most Outstanding Swimmer at 1995 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships after scoring 44 points and leading Loyola to the program's first MAAC team title. He was the back-to-back MAAC champion in the 200 individual medley (1994 and 1995) as the 1995 MAAC champion in the 400 individual medley. Brandt captained both the 1993-94 and 1994-95 men's squad while being named the team MVP as a sophomore and a senior.

He returned to campus after graduation and served as Brian Loeffler's assistant coach for the 1995-96 season. As an assistant, he helped guide the women's program to the 1996 MAAC team title and mentor the 1996 MAAC Most Outstanding Female Swimmer.

Brandt graduate Loyola with a bachelor of arts in English and writing before completing a M.S. in Theory, History, and Criticism of Art, Design, & Architecture at Pratt Institute in 2001.
