FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Junior Gina Seifert represented St. Mary's College of Maryland on the 2019 All-Capital Athletic Conference team that was released by the league on Wednesday (Feb. 20) morning. Seifert was named to the Second Team and picked up her first All-CAC honor in her first year representing the Seahawks.
"I'm so proud of Gina," Head Women's Basketball Coach, C.K. Calhoun stated. "Earning this honor is a testament to her hard work and dedication throughout the season. I am glad to see the CAC recognized her as one of top 12 players in the league. She is very deserving of this accolade."
The 5-11 forward led the Seahawks in scoring with 10.4 points per game and averaged a team-best 7.4 rebounds per game, good for third in the conference. Additionally, Seifert paced the Seahawks in field goal percentage, shooting 45.7 percent from the field and led St. Mary's College with five double-doubles.
Seifert was named the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Feb. 11 when she led the Seahawks to two victories during the week over Mary Washington and York. Overall, Seifert averaged 18 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, 2.5 steals per game, and one block per game during the week.
