GRAND LAKE, Colo. - St. Mary's College of Maryland senior attacker Caitlin Katchmar represented the Seahawks on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region team, the organization announced today. Katchmar was selected to the Second Team of the Chesapeake Region for the second consecutive season.
"I am so proud of Caitlin for this well deserved achievement," said Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, Erin McDonnell. " She was determined to battle back from an extremely tough injury in the fall to leave her legacy within the program and she did just that. She has left some big shoes to fill for the future!"
The Phoenix, Maryland native finished the year with a team-best 75 points, recording 49 goals and 26 assists. Katchmar's season total in points was good for the fifth best mark in the CAC. In addition, Katchmar tallied 14 ground balls, 14 draw controls, and caused six turnovers. Katchmar also captured CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Apr. 22 and was named the St. Mary's College Student-Athlete of the Month in April. In her four-year career as a Seahawk, Katchmar totaled 135 career points and 101 career goals.
