Tom Fisher originally joined the St. Mary's Department of Athletics and Recreation in November 2007 as the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center (MPOARC) building director, managing the daily operations of the 110,000-square foot facility. Fisher also spent seven seasons as the head coach of the Seahawk men's and women's cross country teams from 2009-2010 and 2013-2017.

The Wappingers Falls, N.Y. native is responsible for the daily management, programming, and operation of the MPOARC, including revenue generation and scheduling as well as hiring, training, and supervising the student staff. Fisher also serves as the supervisor of the men's and women's swimming programs, the aquatics director, the equipment room manager, and the office associate while coordinating the physical fitness and recreational sport classes.

Before arriving on the St. Mary's campus, he served as both the assistant athletic director (AD) and the intramurals director at the State University of New York at Delhi, a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), for 10 years. Fisher oversaw operations of the CADI Fitness Center and managed all aspects of home Bronco athletic events as assistant AD. While at SUNY Delhi, he was also an adjunct professor for sports officiating and intramurals administration.

In accordance with National Intramural/Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA) guidelines, Fisher also initiated and scheduled intramurals and recreational programs for a diverse student population at Delhi. He also served as the Delhi summer camp coordinator for five years.

Prior to Delhi, Fisher was a graduate assistant intramural sports coordinator and instructor at Eastern Kentucky University from 1993-1995.

An avid triathlete, he is a two-time IRONMAN finisher, completing the IRONMAN Maryland in 2015 with a time of 13:10.08 and the IRONMAN Lake Placid in 2019 (16:06.66).
