Box Score

St. Mary's City, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team extended their win streak to six matches in a row and remained undefeated in Capital Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 (30-12, 30-25, 30-28) sweep of conference newcomer, Wesley College, on Wednesday night.

The Seahawks (19-2, 4-0 CAC) dominated the first game as sophomore Jenn Feldmann (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) served the game's first nine points before Wesley got on board.  St. Mary's went on to roll to a 30-12 victory.

However, in the second game, the Wolverines (7-8, 1-3 CAC) jumped out to a 3-0 advantage and led for the majority of the game, including being up 17-10.  St. Mary's regained its composure and went on a 20-8 run to earn the 30-25 victory.

In the third and final game, the Hawks led the entire game but Wesley managed to knot the game at 25-25, 26-26, and 28-28 before back-to-back Wolverine errors gave SMCM the 30-28 win.

Sophomore Katie Ewing (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) led the way with 12 kills, while sophomore Sarah Gregorini (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) added 10.  Feldmann and junior Megan Graydon (West Friendship, Md./Glenelg) combined for 46 assists.

Wesley was led by senior Sonila Doda's (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) eight kills, while freshman Emily Brooks (Middletown, Del./Caravel Academy) collected 13 digs.

The Seahawks are idle until Thursday, October 11 when St. Mary's travels to Washington, D.C. to face Trinity University in non-conference action at 7:00.  Wesley returns to action October 10 when the Wolverines host CAC opponent, Gallaudet University, at 7:00.
