St. Mary's City, Md. - After moving to 6-0 with a 3-1 (22-30, 30-22, 30-26, 30-25) victory over Randolph-Macon College in the morning, the St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team had their win streak halted at six matches with a 3-1 (30-26, 29-31, 29-31, 26-30) loss to Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon.

With their 6-1 start in 2007, the Seahawks match the best start set by the 1992 squad which ended up finishing their campaign with a 25-6 record.

Sophomore outside hitters Sarah Gregorini (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Katie Ewing (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) led the Seahawks in the win against Randolph-Macon with 14 kills each, while freshman Claire Kodan (Olney, Md./Sherwood) added 10.

Defensively, Gregorini tallied 19 digs and freshman outside hitter Katie Obal (Olney, Md./Sherwood) had 18.  Junior libero Jackie Reid (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) was also in double digits with 17.

Setters Megan Graydon (West Friendship, Md./Glenelg) and Jenn Feldmann (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) combined for 50 assists, while Graydon served up four aces.

In the 3-1 loss to Lebanon Valley, Kodan led the way with 14 kills but Ewing was in close pursuit with 13.  Junior Becca Tursell (Ellicott City, Md./Glenelg) added 11 and Gregorini had 10.

Gregorini denied a season-high 27 kill attempts, while junior Kellie Krouse (Baltimore, Md./Towson) collected 21 digs.

The Seahawks return to action on Wednesday, September 12 when St. Mary's hosts Hood College at 7:00 in the Capital Athletic Conference opener for both squads.
