St. Mary's City, Md. - The Marymount (Va.) University women's basketball team was too much for St. Mary's College of Maryland to handle as the No. 15/16 Saints tallied an 89-66 Capital Athletic Conference victory Saturday afternoon with four of their starters in double digits.

Marymount's senior Carolyn Riley (Warrenton, Va./Liberty) led the offensive charge with a game-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting.  The Saints, who were ranked 15th in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Top 25 Coaches' Poll and 16th in the D3hoops.com Top 25, remain undefeated on the young season with a 5-0, 2-0 CAC record.

Marymount never trailed in the game as the Saints connected on more than half of their attempts in each half, including shooting 58.8% from the floor in the first stanza, to finish the game with a 56.5-field goal percentage.  The team was also strong from the perimeter, making 5-of-12 three-pointers as Riley and junior guard Meredith Levison (E. Rockaway, N.Y./E. Rockaway) each had a pair.

The Saints owned a 48-27 halftime advantage with 24 points coming off St. Mary's 15 first-half turnovers.  Riley had 16 points in the first 20 minutes to lead all players, while junior forward Kathleen Brown (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) picked up a dozen.  The Seahawks were led by senior forward Kiely Murphy (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) and sophomore guard Jamie Roberts (Rockville, Md./Barrie) as both had seven points.

Marymount continued its dominance in the second half, leading by as much as 28 with 5:48 left in the game.  Brown finished with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while senior guard Kathryn Wilson (Richmond, Va./Saint Gertrude) added 15 points and seven boards.  Levison contributed a dozen and seven rebounds.

The Seahawks (2-6, 1-1 CAC) out-rebounded Marymount, 44-39, as senior forward Allie Scott (Laurel, Md./Atholton) picked up her third straight double-double on a game-high 10 rebounds and team-best 15 points.  Roberts notched a season-high 14 points, while Murphy had 10 points, seven boards, and two blocks.
