St. Mary's City, Md. - Juniors Brooke Tadlock (Middletown, Del./Middletown) and Kori Isken (Montchanin, Del./St. Mark's) scored within six minutes of each other in the second half to preserve Wesley College's unblemished record as the Wolverines notched a 2-0 win over St. Mary's College of Maryland in Capital Athletic Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon.

This was Wesley's (5-0, 1-0 CAC) first victory over the Seahawks (2-2, 1-2 CAC) in six meetings since the two teams' first meeting on October 26, 2004.  St. Mary's had captured the previous five contests before today's Wolverine win.

Tadlock notched an unassisted goal at 39:56 as she dribbled in between two defenders and then reverse-swept the ball into the lower right corner.  Isken followed suit six minutes later as she deflected in freshman Hannah Wilson's (Dover, Del./Dover) cross into the right corner.

St. Mary's (2-2, 1-2 CAC) brought heavy pressure in the second half but junior goalie Sarah Johnson (Honeybrook, Pa./Twin Valley) stood up to the challenge as Johnson registered nine saves in 63:49.  Freshmen Amanda Hudson (Frederica, Del./St. Thomas More) and Elizabeth Groom (Bear, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) combined for one save in the final 5:41.

Sophomore Caitlin Cromer (Halethorpe, Md./Seton Keough) made her first career start for the Seahawks, picking up two saves.

St. Mary's will return to action next Wednesday, September 16 when the Seahawks host the University of Mary Washington in another Capital Athletic Conference tilt at 4:00 p.m.

Wesley will travel to Rosemont College for its next contest on Tuesday, September 15 at 4:00 p.m.
