Box Score
Baltimore, Md. – Despite another strong
defensive effort by the St. Mary's College of Maryland
men's soccer team, the Seahawks suffered their second
consecutive 1-0 loss – this time at the hands of Johns
Hopkins University in non-conference action Monday night.
After Johns Hopkins (9-2-3) took an early 1-0 lead at 9:37
following an unassisted goal by junior forward Sean
Coleman (Lee, N.H./Exeter), St. Mary's and senior
goalkeeper Paul Spranklin (Columbia, Md./Oakland
Mills) kept the regionally-ranked Blue Jays off the board for the
rest of the night as Spranklin matched his
career-high with 12 saves.
Sophomore Frank VanGessel (Delmar, Del./Delmar)
and first-year Justice Haynes (Washington,
D.C./Washington International School) each had a shot on goal for
the Seahawks (3-9-1).
St. Mary's will look to snap its two-game skid this
Saturday with a Capital Athletic Conference tilt against Frostburg
State University in Seahawk Stadium at 3:00 pm.
