St. Mary's City, Md. – Sophomore forward Kim LaBarge (Gambrills, Md./South River) found the back of the net twice in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team to a dominating 5-0 Capital Athletic Conference victory over Marymount (Va.) University Wednesday afternoon in sloppy, wet conditions.

The victory secured the Seahawks' (5-6-2, 5-2 CAC) spot in the 2010 CAC Women's Soccer Tournament which begins October 30 with first round action.  St. Mary's is now in a three-way tie for second with Frostburg State University and Salisbury University.

Joining LaBarge with a productive day were sophomore forward Tori Eskay (Damascus, Md./Urbana) and first-year midfielder Yvonne Latour (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) as the duo each tallied a goal and an assist.

St. Mary's notched four of its five goals in the first half, scoring three of them in a 2:19-minute span.  LaBarge started the scoring at 7:21 with an unassisted goal as she ripped a shot top shelf from the right side of the box.

Latour sparked the three-goal flurry at 18:40 as she collected a slot pass from Eskay and finished with a shot just inside the near post.  Eskay took her turn next at 19:26, dribbling past three defenders and sophomore Gaby Prellezo (Coral Gables, Fla./Our Lady of Lourdes) before tapping it across the goal line.  LaBarge wrapped the first half with her second of the day at 20:59 as she knocked in Latour's 30-yard pass.

Sophomore midfielder Carly Harmon (Davisburg, Mich./Holly) notched the Seahawks final tally of the contest in the second half as Harmon chipped in a shot that went off Prellezo's fingertips.  First-year midfielder Johanna Rambo (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) assisted on the play.

St. Mary's outshot Marymount (4-9, 2-5 CAC) by a 20-12 margin while edging the Saints, 4-3, in corner kicks.

First-years Kelsey Wirtz (Parkton, Md./Hereford) and Shelby Perkins (Forest Hill, Md./Notre Dame Prep) combined for six saves and the team's fourth shutout of the season.

Prellezo finished with seven stops in the loss.

St. Mary's will wrap up conference play this Saturday, October 23 at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  Kick off is 1:00 pm.
