Dover, Del. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team notched their 10th 3-0 victory of the season as well as their second straight win as the Seahawks posted a sweep of host Wesley College in Capital Athletic Conference action Thursday night.
St. Mary's (17-6, 4-2 CAC) had no issues claiming 25-16, 25-13 victories in the first two sets as the Seahawks registered a .533 hitting percentage, including hitting .625 for the second set on 11 kills, one error in 16 attempts.
Wesley (5-28, 1-6 CAC) battled the Seahawks in the third set but St. Mary's outlasted the Wolverines for a 26-24 victory.
Senior outside hitter Claire Kodan (Olney, Md./Sherwood) tallied 10 kills to lead the Seahawk attack while first-year Michelle Klima (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) added seven kills and four blocks.
Senior setter Katie Obal (Olney, Md./Sherwood) picked up 22 assists while first-year libero Bianca Livioco (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) led the defense with six digs.
St. Mary's will return to action tomorrow when they welcome Messiah College to the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena for non-conference action at 6:00 pm.
