St. Mary's Topped by York (PA)

St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback at the hands of York (Pa.) College in Capital Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.

York (7-3, 2-0 CAC) boasted a 1-0 halftime advantage as junior Kemal Nuspahic (East Petersburg, Pa./Warwick) found the back of the net at 15:07.

In the second half, the Spartans scored in a six-minute span as senior forward Mike O'Connell (Bowie, Md./Spalding) and Nuspahic each tallied a goal in the 61st and 67th minute, respectively.

Nuspahic had a hand in all three York goals, finishing the afternoon with two goals and an assist, while sophomore Antonio Bua (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster-Strasburg) dished out a pair of helpers.

York finished with a 17-3 shot advantage and a 4-1 margin in corner kicks.

Sophomore forward Ted Scharfenberg (Holbrook, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) fired off the only shot on goal for the Seahawks (2-6-1, 1-2 CAC).

St. Mary's will look to snap its two-game losing skid on Wednesday, September 29 when they welcome Catholic University to Seahawk Stadium for non-conference action at 4:00 pm.
