Box Score Towson, Md. – Three players notched double-digit kills as the St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team snapped their three-match skid with a 3-2 non-conference victory over Goucher College Wednesday night.
Junior right-side hitter Shelby Mullennix (California, Md./Leonardtown) picked up a team-best 14 kills while junior outside hitter Cecilia Blanc (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 21 digs.
For the second time this season, sophomore libero Bianca Livioco (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) collected a career-best 27 digs to pace the Seahawks (6-15) defensively.
Goucher (9-19) started the match off with a narrow 25-23 victory before St. Mary's claimed the next two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-14 to stake a 2-1 lead in the match.
The Seahawks dominated the fifth and deciding set as St. Mary's never trailed en route to a 15-7 victory.
Sophomore middle blocker Michelle Klima (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) tallied 10 kills in the win while sophomore setter Rachel Wilson (Damascus, Md./Damascus) notched her sixth double-double of the season on 24 assists and 11 digs.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, October 22 as St. Mary's travels to Frostburg State University for a Capital Athletic Conference match at 11:00 am.
