Box Score Salisbury, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team suffered a 4-0 setback to top-ranked Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon. The Sea Gulls scored a pair of goals in each half en route to their eighth straight win.
The Seahawks' first-year goalkeeper Christy Bishop (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg) turned away a season-best 11 shots as Salisbury (8-0, 2-0 CAC) fired off 20 against Bishop and the St. Mary's defense. Defenders Kelsey McKeon (Street, Md./North Harford) and Ali McIntosh (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) each recorded a defensive save in helping Bishop slow down the Sea Gull offense.
St. Mary's (3-5, 1-1 CAC) will return to action next Saturday, October 1 when the Seahawks welcome Stevenson University (3-5, 1-0 CAC) to Seahawk Stadium for conference action at 11:30 am.
