Seahawk Women's Soccer Posts first win of 2012

Box Score

St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team gave Richard Möller his first win as the St. Mary's head coach.  The Seahawks scored twice in the second half to notch a 2-0 non-conference victory over the Randolph-Macon College Yellow Jackets Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore Liz Mosher (Bethesda, Md./Madeira) tallied a goal and an assist to pace St. Mary's (1-1) in the win.

Following a scoreless first half, senior forward Tori Eskay (Damascus, Md./Urbana) put the Seahawks on the board at 56:04.  Standing near the end line, Mosher sent in a pass towards the penalty spot and Eskay finished it towards the lower left corner.

Mosher then scored one of her own at 78:13 as she headed in junior midfielder Yvonne Latour's (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) corner kick from the right side.

Randolph-Macon (0-1) was unable to capitalize despite collecting 12 corner kicks to the Seahawks' five.  However, St. Mary's owned a 15-10 shot advantage.

Junior goalkeeper Kelsey Wirtz (Parkton, Md./Hereford) made five saves for her first shutout of the season while sophomore Briana Housekeeper (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) registered nine stops for the Yellow Jackets.

The Seahawks will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday, September 8 as St. Mary's welcomes Methodist University (1-2) to Seahawk Stadium for non-conference action at 12:00 pm.
