St. Mary's Field Hockey to Support Scholarship Fund

Box Score

St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team are taking advance orders for the sale of T-shirts to benefit the Doug Parker Scholarship Fund.

The Doug Parker Scholarship Fund was set up in honor of current field hockey player, senior Lauriann Parker's (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg), father who passed away from pancreatic cancer five years ago.  The scholarship is given every year to a student from Howard County where the Parker family resides.

The team will be taking advance orders until this Friday, September 7.  If you're interested in ordering a t-shirt, please contact head coach Katie Lange at kdlange@smcm.edu or 240-895-4319.

The t-shirts are $10 and will be purple as that is the official color of the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.  A picture of the t-shirt is attached.

The Seahawks ask if you do purchase a t-shirt to please wear it in support at their home field hockey contest against Frostburg State University on Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 pm.

This is a really special game for the field hockey team and it means a great deal to them to see their family, friends, and fans wearing the same color, supporting the team and the cause.
