St. Mary's City, Md. – Senior midfielder Madison Leone (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) scored with 1:18 left in the first overtime period to lift Wesley College to a 2-1 victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland Sunday afternoon in the first round of the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship Tournament.

Leone picked up her second of the day on a penalty corner as junior forward Devin Price (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) inserted the ball to the top of the circle and Leone ripped a shot just inside the near post for her team-leading 12th goal of the season.

Wesley (9-10) now advances to Wednesday's semifinal matchup at top-seeded Christopher Newport University, who is currently ranked fourth in Division III. The Wolverines avenged their regular-season 2-1 shootout loss at St. Mary's that happened eight days ago.

The loss brings the Seahawks' 2013 campaign to a close as St. Mary's ends the season with a 10-6 (3-3 CAC) record, marking the first time since 2010 that the team has recorded a 10-win season.

Senior midfielder Rachel Heiss (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) put the Seahawks on the board first just four minutes in as Heiss corralled a loose rebound at the near post and sent the ball into the far right corner.

St. Mary's was about to head into halftime with a one-goal lead before Leone smacked the back of the goal netting off a penalty corner with seven ticks left on the clock. Junior forward Gracie Daniels (Pocomoke, Md./Washington) got the assist on the goal as Daniels inserted the ball to Leone.

The Seahawks posted a 12-10 shot advantage, including a 7-3 margin in the second half. Wesley collected a 14-10 edge in corners, including a 9-1 dominance in the first 35 minutes.

Junior Christy Bishop (Glenwood, Md./Glenelg) notched three saves for St. Mary's while sophomore Sarah Daniels (Pocomoke, Md./Washington) made six stops in the second stanza to finish with eight saves for the game.
