Box Score St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season Wednesday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to York College of Pennsylvania in Capital Athletic Conference action.
Following today's loss and some other conference results, St. Mary's (9-9, 5-4 CAC) will enter the 2014 CAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament as the sixth seed. The tournament begins on Saturday, November 1st with first-round games. The Seahawks will travel to No. 3 seed Frostburg State University on Saturday for their first-round matchup. York (7-6-5, 4-3-2 CAC) owned a 2-0 advantage at halftime as junior Christopher Saberton (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) found the back of the net at 9:36 for the Spartans' first goal of the day. Junior forward Peter Lundgaard (Greenville, Del./Salesianum) followed suit with his team-leading sixth goal of the season at 12:26.
The Spartans tacked on their third goal in the second half as senior Yawo Baah (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) converted on a penalty kick at 77:54. Baah finished the afternoon with a goal and an assist.
York posted a 16-3 shot advantage as well as a 6-1 margin in corner kicks.
First-year goalkeeper Zack Haussler (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) finished the game with five saves while sophomore Charlie Johnson (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made two stops in helping the Spartans conclude their 2014 campaign on a four-game unbeaten streak.
