St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team got the job done in the first half Wednesday afternoon, scoring four goals in the first 45 minutes en route to a 5-0 shutout of Marymount (Va.) University in the regular-season finale.

The Seahawks (9-5-3, 6-2-1 CAC) are 9-0-1 in their last 10 meetings with Marymount (1-15-1, 0-9-0 CAC) and now boast a 27-5-2 all-time series record against the Saints following today's Senior Day win.

Prior to the start of today's game, the Seahawks honored their three seniors – midfielder Lexy McCarty (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg), midfielder/forward Liz Mosher (Bethesda, Md./Madeira), and defender Caryn Thompson (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) – for their time with the Seahawk women's soccer program.

Fellow classmate Gillian Sawyer (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) gave the Seahawks a 2-0 advantage at 9:40 as Sawyer stole the Saint clear and fired into an empty net.

Sophomore midfielder Claire Kostelnik (Los Angeles, Calif./Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy) scored back-to-back goals in a span of 3:16 minutes for a four-goal cushion at 18:31. The Seahawks carried the 4-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Thompson picked up her first career goal as she corralled a pass from McCarty and dribbled in before finding the back of the net at 72:18.

St. Mary's tallied a 15-4 shot advantage as well as a 5-0 margin in corner kicks. The Seahawks used three goalies in the win as first-year Sydney Larkin (Salisbury, Md./Parkside), sophomore Sara Eaton (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School), and first-year Alicia Chavez (Eldersburg, Md./Good Counsel) all played 30 minutes in securing the team's eighth shutout of the season.

Senior Holly Wenger (Churchville, Va./Grace Christian) notched five saves as the Saints' season came to an end this afternoon.
