St. Mary's Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight

Dover, Del. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team faced a scrappy team in Wesley College Friday night and came away with a tough 3-0 (25-19, 32-30, 25-18) Capital Athletic Conference victory. Tonight's triumph marks the sixth consecutive win for St. Mary's and 10th sweep of the season.

How It Happened

Four Wesley miscues contributed the Seahawks capture the final six points of the first set and a 1-0 lead. Senior captain Alli Graf (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and sophomore libero Marissa Dangler (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) combined for 17 digs.
A kill by sophomore outside hitter Meghan Kelley (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and a Dangler ace helped St. Mary's grab the marathon second set by a 32-30 margin. In this set, A. Graf (8 kills) and Kelley joined forces for 15 kills.
The Seahawks gained better control in the third game and established a 17-10 advantage following a Wesley service error. Senior Carissa Hill (Lanham, Md./Pallotti) ended the match with an ace.

For the Seahawks (18-7, 3-1 CAC)

Kelley (15 kills); A. Graf (14 kills, 16 digs, 2 block assists); Mimi Graf (40 assists, 10 digs, 2 block assists); Dangler (17 digs); Hill (8 digs, 2 service aces).
St. Mary's hit .275 for the match with three service aces and 7.0 team blocks.

For Wesley (9-14, 0-6 CAC)

Tionne Graves-Brown (13 kills, 14 digs); Jessica Tynes (10 kills, 11 digs); Lindsay Burg (23 assists, 10 digs); Beth Schlecker (21 assists, 4 digs, 2 kills); Kristin Wissler (12 digs).
The Wolverines posted a .176 attacking percentage with four service aces and 3.0 team blocks.
