Fredericksburg, Va. – After leading 1-0 in the first half, the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team rallied for a 2-2 draw before falling 3-2 to the University of Mary Washington Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action. Junior captain Megan Moore (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) paced the Seahawks with a goal and an assist.

How It Happened
- Moore opened up the scoring early as she gave St. Mary's a 1-0 lead at 6:12 after putting in the rebound off of sophomore Jessica Cavolt's (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) pads.
- The 1-0 lead would hold until three minutes into the second half when junior midfielder Allegra Massey-Elim (Fredericksburg, Va./Fredericksburg Academy) finished off a pass from first-year Lauren Hopkins (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) for a 1-1 draw at 38:08.
- Hopkins would then score one herself at 43:17 to hand Mary Washington its first lead of the game after receiving a through pass from senior forward Christine Loehr (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield).
- Sophomore midfielder Mollie Belson (Columbia, Md./Atholton) notched the second equalizer of the match at 48:49 as Moore sent in a cross from the right and Belson deflected for the score.
- Massey-Elim and Hopkins struck again for the eventual game-winning goal at two minutes later on another corner.
- Belson generated one more opportunity in the final three minutes but Cavolt was up to the challenge and preserved UMW's one-goal victory.

- Scorers: Moore (1 goal, 1 assist); Belson (1 goal).
- Goalkeeper: Alyssa Thompson (4 saves, 3 goals allowed, 70:00).
- Defensive Save: Kevyn Jorgenson (1).
- St. Mary's finished the game with 11 shots (10 on goal) and six penalty corners.
For Mary Washington (7-4, 1-1 CAC)
- Scorers: Massey-Elim (2 goals); Hopkins (1 goal, 2 assists); Loehr (1 assist).
- Goalkeeper: Cavolt (8 saves, 2 goals allowed, 70:00).
- Mary Washington, who received votes in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll, recorded 17 shots (eight on goal) and 10 corners.
