Lexington, Va. – Junior captain Megan Moore (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) found the back of the cage as the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Washington and Lee University Generals Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- Washington and Lee gained a 1-0 halftime lead after senior forward Maggie Waxter (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park) picked up her first of the season at 14:44.
- Fifteen minutes into the second half, the Generals struck again as first-year forward Lauren Paolano (Huntington, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) notched her team-leading second goal of the season at 50:08.
- Moore helped St. Mary's avoid the shutout and cut WLU's lead in half with her unassisted tally at 65:06.
- Sophomore forward Haley Tucker (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's), who assisted on the Generals' first score of the game, sealed the win for Washington and Lee with her tally at 66:27.
For the Seahawks (1-3)
- Scorer: Moore (1 goal).
- Goalkeeper: Alyssa Thompson (7 saves, 3 goals allowed, 70:00).
- St. Mary's finished the game with 15 shots and seven penalty corners.
For Washington and Lee (1-2)
- Scorers: Tucker (1 goal, 1 assist); Waxter (1 goal); Paolano (1 goal); Noelani Schulmeyer (1 assist).
