Swarthmore, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2016 campaign Wednesday night. Senior defender Ryan Meuth (Mansfield, Mass./Groton) scored with 23 seconds left in regulation to lift Swarthmore College to a 3-2 non-conference win over the Seahawks, snapping St. Mary's seven-game unbeaten streak.

How It Happened
- Meuth lead the Garnet to victory at 89:37 as he knocked in a rebound off the post from point-blank range.
- Swarthmore drew first blood just before the end of the first half when first-year forward Zach Viscusi (Aston, Pa./Episcopal) finished off a short-range goal for his first of the season.
- Early in the second stanza, sophomore midfielder Juwan Kearson (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's) evened up the score at 48:09.
- Junior midfielder Michael Nafziger (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) flicked a header into the goal from the six-yard line to return a one-goal lead to the Garnet at 68:30.
- The Seahawks continued to battle and senior captain Nick Tait (Silver Spring, Md./Sandy Spring Friends) netted an equalizer at 84:57 as Tait ripped a free kick from 20 yards out into the lower left corner.
For the Seahawks (6-1-1)
- Scorers: Kearson (1 goal); Tait (1 goal).
- Goalkeeper: Zack Haussler (3 saves, 3 goals allowed, 90:00).
- St. Mary's finished the game with 10 shots and four corner kicks.
For Swarthmore (4-3-0)
- Scorers: Viscusi (1 goal); Nafziger (1 goal); Meuth (1 goal); Evers (2 assists); Laniyan (1 assist).
- Goalkeeper: Michael Thut (1 save, 2 goals allowed, 90:00).
- The Garnet put up 17 shots and no corner kicks.
Notes
- St. Mary's entered today's action ranked fifth in the South Atlantic region for the second straight week.
- Tait moved up once again in the St. Mary's men's soccer record books as he is now tied for fifth all-time with 74 career points. He remains tied for sixth with 20 assists and seventh with 27 goals.
