St. Mary's 1, Salisbury 0
How It Happened
- The two sides were nearly equal statistically speaking as St. Mary's edged the Sea Gulls, 14-10, in shots but Salisbury notched a 6-4 margin in corner kicks.
- Only two of the Seahawks' six shots in the first half were on target and Trevor Brookhart turned them away to preserve the scoreless draw at the break.
- Balogun put one past Brookhart early in the second half as he finished off a pass from sophomore forward Roshawn Panton (Bowie, Md./Roosevelt).
- Balogun's goal proved to be the difference as junior goalkeeper Patrick Paolini (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) recorded all three of his saves in the final 45 minutes to hand the Sea Gulls their first conference loss of the year.
