Harrisonburg, Va. – Senior Mollie Belson (Columbia, Md./Atholton) and first-year Gabrielle Corder (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Anne's County) each found the back of the cage Friday night in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team to the road win. St. Mary's (6-5) edged the Eastern Mennonite University Royals (6-7), 2-1, in non-conference action.

How It Happened
- The Seahawks did all their damage in the first half, staking a 2-0 lead at the break.
- Belson put St. Mary's on the scoreboard at 7:21 as she fired a shot right down the middle through traffic for her second of the season.
- The visitors doubled their lead just six minutes later when Corder dribbled past a Royal defender and finished for her third tally of the year.
- The two-goal Seahawk lead held true until the 44th minute when Madeline Mast put back a rebound for her first score of 2018.
- St. Mary's posted a 13-5 advantage in shots while boasting a 9-5 margin in penalty corners, including earning seven in the second half.

- St. Mary's improves to 4-6 in the series with EMU, which began in 1995 but has been silent since 2015. This is the Seahawks' fourth straight win over Eastern Mennonite.
