Seahawk Men's Rowing Begins Fall Season

Philadelphia, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's rowing team took part in their first meet of the 2018-19 year, competing at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. St. Mary's staked an 18th-place finish in the club championship eights. 

How It Happened

  • The novice eights finished 18th of 22 in 16:11.7, behind the U.S. Naval Academy who won in 12:31.9.
  • The varsity 8 came in 39th of 44 entries with a time of 15:03.5. The University of Pennsylvania won then event in 12:07.5.
  • Nine athletes competed in their first race for St. Mary's, and five athletes raced in both events.
